Day time Invites

For those who have been directed via the facebook you will find the relevant invite pinned at the top of the group.

The ceremony starts at 3, nothing formal, but lots of bright colours etc, followed by a picnic lunch. We will supply food and drink where we can but feel free to bring your own along, there are bbqs on site and we plan on using them. There will be some tables and chairs but not many so either bring a chair or like most of us, bring blankets and find a lovely patch of grass.

The chapel is not a standard one, there will be some seats but not a huge amount, we're hoping to have some logs to lay down the sides but we may resort to blankets for most in here too.

Below is the picnic area as well, this can be used to set up tents if you wish as well, keep them to the edges so people can gather in the middle.

Due to the area being out in the sticks so to speak, I hope that I can ask some of you to help make up the lights for the night time, it will mostly involve glow sticks ;) and fairy lights lol.

The venue!

The venue for the event is Pinsent Campsite in Winchester. Here are the directions, with a map from the centre of Winchester, I will also include address for SatNavs.

The entrance to the road says it's not suitable for vehicles, it is a little bumpy and there may be horses, please take it slowly. If you book a taxi to leave at the end of the night, we suggest you book group taxis and arrange for collection from there for ease of them finding us.

We recommend you camp where possible.

.
Toilets, Washing facilities, Water supply, Hot showers, Hot water, Car park, Fridge freezer, Altar fires, Cooking area, Campfire circle, Chapel.

This is the entrance to Clarendon way, the campsite is on the right hand side.

Sign post to Clarendon and the campsite will be decorated just to make sure.

Style/ideas

If you're wondering, yes there is a theme, do you have to stick to it? Well, no actually lol. However I will say that there is no requirement for formal wear of ANY kind, wear what you love, dress up if you want. Have fun and feel comfy. Heels are not recommended, flat shoes are the better option. But for those who actually want to get involved in the theme or are just plain curious, the theme is, um... colour? Vintage? Retro? Relaxed, fun, kitsh, crazy. I have no idea.  It is a wonderful mix of the things that make us happy. Me I love vintage, Stuart want's carrot cake and bright colours, and the girls wants sweets... ok that last one is pretty standard for kids lol. So here is a little collection of hints :D

Bridesmaids: (yes I know, but I want them and Stu said I could, so I am)

I was going to go with flowers for them to carry but I'm reconsidering that for something more interesting. They will carry a container each with small pots of dried petals instead of confetti (biodegradable)
 :D.

These are sold at Notonthehighstreet.com

Trees are being decorated with beads and ribbons, I found these on ebay, £2.99 for 100m, the seller is Mcoler18! :D

Venue

So the venue is Pinsent Campsite, just south of Winchester, easy travelling distance for those who dislike camping.

Here is a link to the map plus hotels in the area.

It does not have a huge car park so car share may be worth doing, also I will look into taxi costs for those who don't want to stay over. However, I will say, staying over is the best bet.

I will be visiting the site soon so I can give you a better idea of how it looks, lay out etc.

The first half of the event is at 3pm, this is a small ceremony for a vow renewal and will take place around 3.30pm. Those invited to this part who are planning to camp are welcome to arrive earlier to set up their campsite equipment.

For those coming for the evening, you can arrive any time after 5 to set up but we will be setting up the party area so please keep to the camping area. At the moment we are planning on using the Chapel site (not the chapel) for the ceremony, with the party around the campsite. I recommend pitching your tents within an easy distance of the toilets. Also, for those concerned, there is access to showers!

According to Google Maps, this is a 5 minute drive from the centre of Winchester, so taxi fair will be fairly low, obviously depending on where you are headed. It is 1.8 miles approximately from town, apparently this is a 40 minute walk for those brave enough (16 if you're on a bike lol). I would not recommend trying it after dark but if you live somewhere nearby, such as Sarum Road or Stanmore, it is only 20 minutes walk, which is great if you're camping and someone else is bring the tent lol.

Ok so that is the basics on the location, more information when I have it. Invites will be sent out asap, please don't be offended if you only get invited to the evening, it is simply a space saving thing.
